I wasn't thinking of you as a real person this entire time, and now I realize (as your father carefully folds tiny pairs of socks with bugs on them, as I trip over the bouncy seat) that you're real, and that I think I might love you, even though I don't know you. I've started thinking of you now, and you look like your dad, I think, with curls and the face of an angel. I must love you, because if I didn't, I'd have just given up hope.
